It is to inform all citizens of Tripura that all senior officers along with sufficient security forces are camping and patrolling in Gandatwisa and the situation is under control. In this regard, prohibitory orders under Section 144 have been issued by SDM Gandatwisa, prohibiting the assembly of more than five people in and around the Gandatwisa subdivision. Kindly refrain from posting, sharing, or expressing any communal sentiments as it will amount to an offense under the IT Act. Any deviation will be strictly dealt with.”
Political Reactions on Mobile Internet Suspension
Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, founder of Tripura’s ruling BJP’s alliance partner TIPRA Motha party, also called for peace while demanding justice for Reang. He condemned the incident and assured strict action against the culprits. Debbarma’s statement on Facebook read, “I condemn the murder of Parmeshwar Reang in Gandatwisa. I spoke personally with the highest police authority and demanded that they charge the culprits under the relevant IPC sections. Also, I appeal for peace and restraint. I will personally go and meet the family. We demand justice!”
